文学博士、教授，博士生导师。1986年毕业于扬州师范学院外语系英语专业，硕、博士分别师从华中师范大学聂珍钊教授、扬州大学姚文放教授。历任扬州大学外国语学院院长、扬州大学国际合作与交流处处长、扬州大学校务委员会委员等职。现兼任中国高等教育学会外国文学专业委员会常务理事、全国美国文学研究会理事、江苏省比较文学学会副会长、江苏省外国文学学会常务理事。主要从事英美文学、西方文论、比较文学研究，承担英语专业本科生专业课程、博硕士研究生专业课程等教学工作。获江苏省留学基金资助，分别于2002年赴英国牛津大学埃克塞特学院访学，2008-2009年赴美国普渡大学文学院英语系访学。主持并完成国家社科基金、教育部人文社科研究等项目，在社科文献出版社和《外国文学研究》《外国文学动态》《外语研究》等出版或发表代表性成果。先后获国家级高等教育教学成果二等奖1项（排名4，2022年）、江苏省高等教育教学成果一等奖2项和二等奖1项（排名2, 2013年；排名4, 2021年；排名1，2007年）、江苏省第八届高校哲学社科研究优秀成果奖1项。被遴选为扬州大学“新世纪人才工程”中青年学术带头人培养对象，被评选为扬州市教学创新能手。

Xu QIN, professor of English and Comparative Literature in the Department of English, joined the faculty at Yangzhou University in 1986. He holds a PhD in Literary Theory, having focused on the Yale critics in a variety of social and cultural contexts. His main teaching and research areas are literary criticism and literary theory, comparative literature, and cultural studies. His interests include new modes of "hybrid" criticism in the 21st century; influential figures stressing topics with a newly attuned attention to political and ethical questions. In his book, The Deconstructive Criticism of J. Hillis Miller (2011), he explored the format of a deconstructive miscellany to reveal surprising connections between the rhetoric reading and the cultural politics. He served as director of the Division of International Cooperation and Exchanges at Yangzhou University, and a member of the University Council for 2 three-year terms (2016 to 2022). Other administrative roles have included serving as dean of the College of International Studies (2013 to 2016); associate dean of the College of International Studies (2004 to 2013). He has received grants from National Social Science Foundation and Provincial Social Science Foundation, and has led the project for humanities and social sciences from the Ministry of Education. He has won four prizes for Teaching Excellence and Distinguished Scholarship at provincial and ministerial levels. Qin is currently Vice Chairman of Comparative Literature Association of Jiangsu Province.
