课程介绍：This course examines representative works in British and American literary, exploring their interconnections on three analytic scales: the macro history of Britain, America and the world; the formal and stylistic innovations in romanticism/transcendentalism/modernism...; and the small details of sensory input and psychic life.

考试形式：1) 4 essays: 30% of final grade; 1,000-1,300 words (3-4 pages) for each assignment 2) participation: 10% of final grade 3) attendance: 10% of final grade 4) a closed-book exam: 50% of final grade
