Profile
MORE+The main researching fields are Neurophysiology and the neurological degenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, espically the mechanisms and regulation of synaptic transmission. Synapses are the main stuctures for information exchange between neurons, and studying the mechanisms of synaptic transmission is a fundamental topic in neuroscience. Studies have shown that synaptic transmission abnormalities occur before many degenerative diseases exhibit obvious clinical symptoms. Therefore, studying the mechanisms and regulation of synaptic transmission also has enormous clinical potential for early diagnosis and intervention in these diseases. The characteristic of the study is the application of neurophysiological patch clamp recording technology to record the electrical activity of normal and abnormal synapses. Among them, whole cell capacitance recording before synapse can monitor the endocytosis and exocytosis of vesicles, with a sampling rate of 1000 times per second, which has a high time resolution that other methods do not have, and is a powerful means of studying vesicle fusion and recovery mechanisms. In addition, the patch clamp recording can be performed simultaneously on presynaptic and postsynaptic neurons to observe the entire process of synaptic transmission. The use of such electrophysiological methods combined with gene manipulation techniques enables us to study the mechanisms and regulation of synaptic transmission at the molecular level.
